Bomb threat in Surat textiles market

Surat, May 26 (UNI) A hoax bomb threat disrupted the functioning of the textiles market here today.

An anonymous caller had yesterday rung up the merchants saying a bomb blast would be triggered in the market between 1000 hrs and 1400 hrs today.

Upon being alerted by the merchants, the police had carried out an extensive search late last evening itself. Another search was conducted today and the entire market cordoned off.

However, nothing suspicious has been found. Police are still maintaining a vigil since the Surat textiles market is one of the busiest textiles trading centre, located in the heart of the city.
