45 huts gutted in blaze

Jabalpur, May 26 (UNI) Forty-five huts were today gutted in a fire that broke out at a slum near a pond in Vijay Nagar area, fire brigade sources said.

After a hut caught fire, flames engulfed other huts in no time completely destroying household items and leaving hut-dwellers homeless.

Eight fire brigade tenders took three hours to bring the fire under control.

No loss of human life was reported but property of about Rs 15,000-20,000 was destroyed in almost every hut.
