Temperature comes down drastically in Chennai

Chennai, May 25 (UNI) Southerly winds continued to provide Chennaites relief from scorching heat with mercury dropping to 37.3 degrees Celsius today.

According to MET officials here, the early onset of sea breeze for the second successive day, the temperature which decreased to about 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday dropped further to 37.3 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures also dropped to 28 deg celsius in the morning, which was two degree less from yesterday.

The weather was likely to persist for the next two-days with the weathermen forecasting more rain and thundershowers accompanied by squalls in Chennai and the suburbs, during the next 48 hrs.

The MET office forecast a partly cloudy sky in the city during the next 24 hrs with the likelihood of rain or thundershowers accompanied by squalls in some areas.

It also forecast a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius tomorrow.
