Suspend AMC Commissioner Rokde, demand members
Akola, May 25 (UNI) The corporators of the Akola Municipal Corporation (AMC), in a special general body meeting today, unanimously passed a resolution, demanding suspension of controversial AMC Commissioner Chandrashekhar Rokde who had allegedly beaten former BJP corporator Deepak Khotre recently.
In the meeting, the members also demanded that the Maharashtra government should set up an enquiry committee to probe the misdeeds and illegal works committed by him. The resolution was placed by corporator and city BJP chief Vijay Agarwal.
The members further resolved to recommend to the commissioner to suspend Tax Superintendent Nandkishore Ujwane and to dismiss four security guards, who were also involved in beating Mr Khotre.
The meeting was called on the requisition of 38 corporators, in which 65 members were present. However, both the Commissioner and the Tax Superintendent were conspicuously absent.
Mr Khotre, in a police complaint on May 21, stated that Rokde had kicked him.
