Storm destroys huge property in Tripura

Agartala, May 25 (UNI) Thunderstorms with moderate rain over a few places in North Tripura destroyed huge property and disrupting communication network and power supply in the areas.

Official sources here today said about 50 houses and 70 pillars of power line were demolished when the storm, known as Kalbaishakhi, hit a few areas of the state yesterday.

District Magistrate of North Tripura Shantanu Das said work was going on to restore the water, power supply and telephone network in the areas.

However, no casualty was reported so far, Mr Das said.
