Steel city experiences heat wave
Jamshedpur, May 25 (UNI) The steel city here is experiencing heat wave for the last few days as the temperature crossed the 40 degrees Celsius mark affecting normal life in and around here.
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year with the mercury touching 43.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius.
Today's maximum temperature was 42.1 and the minimum at 22.9 degrees Celsius.
The maximum relative humidity was 63 per cent while the minimum was 25 per cent, Met officials said.
People preferred to stay indoors despite frequent power cuts coupled with drinking water crisis.
The weather office said the heat wave would continue for a few more days.
