Seven shops gutted in fire

Jammu, May 25 (UNI) A devastating fire has gutted seven shops at Malik market in Kishtwar town of Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, official sources today said.

Property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted in the fire that broke out in seven shops on Wednesday night, sources said.

Within minutes the whole market came in the grip of fire. The locals rushed to the spot and made all efforts to control the fire.

The fire tenders were also pressed into service to put out the blaze.

Short-circuit in electric wires was reported to be the cause behind the incident.
