New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Women and youth took to streets today to demonstrate against the decision of the Centre and state government to introduce sex education in schools from the current academic session.
They demanded the decision be reversed immediately as it only distorted the minds of children.
The protestors said the ''imperialist agencies'' were conspiring to ''break'' the cultural-moral backbone of the younger generation.
''They are doing so by promoting all types of obscene films, pornographic literature and vulgar advertisements particularly through television and other mass media,'' they alleged.
The demonstration was organised jointly by the Delhi State Committees of All India Democratic Students' Organisation (AIDSO), All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan (AIMSS) and the All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO).
Organising Committee President Bhaskaranand said though government's propaganda in favour of introducing sex education is to spread awareness of AIDS, it only helped in promoting sex tourism in the country.
