Sanjay Dutt appears before court
Mumbai, May 25: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt today appeared before Judge P D Kode, as part of his routine attendance in the designated TADA court which tried the March 12, 1993 serial blasts case.
Sanjay Dutt's lawyer Farhana Shah told the court that today being the second death anniversary of Sunil Dutt, Sanjay needed to perform the customary rites and therefore be allowed to leave. The court granted the permission.
Besides Sanjay Dutt, seven other convicts in the blasts case who are out on bail, also appeared before the court. All of them were asked to appear as and when required.
Imtiyaz Gavate, who suffers from a life-threatening disease, could not appear on health grounds. He will appear on Tuesday.
Those who appeared today are Somnath Thapa, Yusuf Nulwala, Kersi Adajenia, Rusi Mulla, Zaibunissa Kazi, Mubina Bhiwadiwala and Rubina Memon.
