SAC recommends dismissal of ex-MD JKTDC

Jammu, May 25 (UNI) J&K State Accountability Commission (SAC) has recommended termination of ex-Managing Director of JKTDC for misusing his official position and causing huge losses to the government.

Sources of SAC said the MD of Jammu and Kashmir Tourist Development Corporation (JKTDC) Khursheed Ahmad Naqeeb, presently attached with IMPA, also manipulated various backdoor appointments in the JKTDC including that of daughter of former Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Mohammad Yousaf Khan.

SAC bench comprising acting chairperson Justice G L Raina and member Justice Muzaffar Hussian Jan after holding Naqeeb guilty of the allegations leveled by a complainant, asked the State Govt to dismiss him from the service.

The Commission observed Naqeeb had spent crores of rupees for renovation of Chashma Shahi Huts in Srinagar and D-blocks of tourist reception centre in Jammu without inviting tenders.

Giving details, a SAC spokesman said the Commission had received a complaint from one Sheikh Shakeel Ahmad, alleging that Naqeeb misused official powers.
