Police team to be sent to Orissa to arrest Mohanty

Jaipur, May 25: A police team will be sent to Orissa for arresting Orissa DGP (Home Guard) BB Mohanty in the parole jumping case of his son Bitti Mohanty.

District Superintendent of Police (Jaipur East) V K Singh said a police team led by Gandhinagar Circle Officer (CO) Mukual Bihari Shamra would leave for Orissa for the arrest soon.

BB Mohanty has given surety for his son to get parole. He is accused of harbouring and shielding his son who had jumped parole from a jail here.

Bitti has been serving a seven-year life term in the infamous rape case of a German woman. He was released on a 15-day parole on the surety of his father to meet his ailing mother in November last.

He had to return back to jail on Decemebr 4, but he is absconding.
