NSCN rivals likely to engage in factional clashes

Kohima, May 25: Tension ran high in Para-Medical Colony area here since yesterday following the rival NSCN factions appearing all set for a clash in the populated areas.

According to reports, some NSCN-IM cadres surrounded its rival NSCN (K) cadres, stationed at Para-Medical Colony, leading to a stand-off that continued till late night yesterday.

The district authority had deployed a number of Police and Para-military forces in the area for the safety of the civilians.

Meanwhile, the members of Para-Medical Colony Panchayat Members and the Angami Public Organisation have appealed to both the rival factions to vacate the area.

However, the factions have been maintaining that they would leave the place only after their rival vacated.
