New runway to be operational from June 15: Minister

Visakhapatnam, May 25 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Mines T Subbarami Reddy today said the new runway with night landing facility at the airport here would be operational from June 15.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the stand off between Airport Authority of India (AAI) and Navy with regard to the operation of the new runway was resolved.

He said all necessary measures were taken for smooth operation of the airport.

AAI Chairman K Ramalingam and Defence Ministry Joint Secretary B Vinay Kumar inspected the new runway today.
