MP has received Rs 44,000 cr investment: Chouhan
Shivpuri, MP, May 25 (UNI) Claiming that the Madhya Pradesh Government's efforts to attract investment have been successful, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said Rs 44,000 crore has been invested in the state so far.
''Foreign industrialists had been invited to set up industries in the state. They would be provided basic facilities like road, power and water,'' Mr Chouhan told reporters here.
This included upgrading of airports in Bhopal and Indore to international level. Besides, 22 airstrips were being handed over to private sector.
''In order to make farmers prosperous, a two-day agro-processing meet is being organised to encourage farmers to cultivate vegetables apart from traditional crops,'' he said.
Mr Chouhan was here to canvass votes for BJP candidate Ganesh Gautam for assembly by-elections to Shivpuri constituency.
He added that anyone who joined the BJP became party workers. He called for competition between political parties to serve people better.
