Life term sentence to four

Dumka, May 25 (UNI) A local court here today sentenced to life imprisonment four persons and acquitted as many on benefit of doubt in a two-year-old murder case.

According to prosecution, Vinod Manda was beaten up by Inod Mandal alias Kado Mandal, Shukar Mandal, Nageshwar Mandal and Goday Mandal on July 20, 2006.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries at the Dumka Sadar hospital. A case was lodged at the Jama police station on his mother's complaint.

The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (fourth) Ganpati Tiwary announced life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5,000 to each after all the four were found guilty.

The court released four other accused, all women, on benefit of doubt.

UNI
