Inter marks as weightage for Engineering, Medicine admns

Hyderabad, May 25 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said 25 per cent of the Intermediate marks will be taken as weightage for the Engineering and Medical admissions from the EAMCET-2009 for the academic year 2009-2010, according to a press release here.

The Chief Minister asked the Board of Intermediate Education Department to improve the standard of teaching in the Government Junior Colleges. He gave green signal for seeking Rs 150 crore NABARD loan for construction of Junior College Buildings.

He said the government would allow the contract teachers at Junior colleges to work from June 15 itself instead of July one to improve the standards. He agreed to the proposal for notifying to fill up 500 more regular lecturers in the junior colleges in addition to fill up of the 533 vacancies for which process is already on.

The Chief Minister also agreed to sanction Rs five crore for the SPHURTHY project.
