Information commission directs Bihar govt to make BPL list public
Patna, May 25 (UNI) Bihar State Information Commission has directed the state government to make public all information relating to the below poverty line (BPL) lists, teachers' recruitment and Indira Awas beneficiaries.
State chief information commissioner Justice Shashank Kumar Singh said state information commission had directed the concerned departments to make all these details public as most of the cases that came up before the commission were related to BPL lists, irregularities in appointment of teachers, and bungling in allotment of dwelling units under the Indira Awas Yojna.
''State government is expected to make all these informations public within 30 days of the stipulated time barring the details about the BPL lists, which may take more time as its rectification process is still in progress'' he added.
Justice Singh expressed satisfaction over the achievement of information commission as it had already disposed off 512 cases of the 900 that came during nine months of its existance. The Commission was constituted by the Bihar government on August 25, 2006.
