HAL to export Dhruv for international market
Chennai, May 25 (UNI) Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has chalked out various measures to export its latest 'Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) - Dhruv to Latin American countries, Europe and Asian countries.
Talking to mediapersons here today, HAL Managing Director A K Saxena said ''ALH is a multi-role, multi-mission helicopter in 5.5 tonne class, fully designed and developed by the HAL, which will be exported to various countries, including Chile, Venezuela, Turkey and Malaysia''.
He said purchase enquiries had come from these countries where they would 'competitively bid' for the export processing.
Dhruv was designed to meet the requirement of both military and civil operators, he said, adding Dhruv was also developed to perform both the utility and attack roles.
With a twin-engine configuration, Dhruv allows continued flight virtually throughout the flight envelope, he said.
Mr Saxena further mentioned that in view of demanding market across the globle, HAL also planned to double the production capacity of ALH.
''After enhancing our capacity production, HAL will be producing about 40 to 50 ALH per year'', he added.
