Govt Official caught accepting bribe

Bangalore, May 25 (UNI) Lokayukta officials caught a senior official of the Women and Children Development Department red handed when he was accepting a bribe for an official favour.

According to a Lok Ayukta release, the official, identified as Devaraja, was caught while accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe from a city-based weighing machines supplier.

The supplier said in his complaint to Lok Ayukta said he had earlier paid Rs 20,000 bribe as demanded by the official. But, he demanded Rs 10,000 more and threatened that if the money was not paid, he would reject the weighing machines meant to be distributed to Anganawadi centers.
