Govt extends zero duty on import of pulses upto March 2009
New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) As a measure to check rise in prices of essential commodities, the Government has further extended zero duty on import of pulses upto March 31, 2009.
The retail prices of most of the essential commodities at four main metropolitan centres remained stable over the week ending May 22, except some marginal variations in the prices of some commodities, according to an official release here today.
In Delhi, prices of mustard oil and potato declined; price of loose tea increased; and prices of wheat, atta, rice, sugar, gram, onion, vanaspati, tur dal, packed salt and groundnut oil remained steady.
