Chennai, May 25 (UNI) The joint front of employees comprising BKNK Sangh, Food Corporation of India (FCI) executive staff union, FCI officers' association and Labour unions observed a one-day pen down stir today.

They were protesting against the authorities not taking effective steps to secure the release of Dr P C Ram, Executive Officer (Northeast zone), who was kidnapped by extremists in Guwahati on April 17 this year.

The front has been organising a series of agitation to show its resentment since no positive steps was being taken even after one month to get the executive released from captivity, a FCI release said here.

The agitation by the joint front of employees had crippled operations of the FCI units in Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
