Explosives seized in Allahabad
Lucknow, May 25 (UNI) After Gorakhpur serial blasts and recovery of large amount of explosives from Faizabad and Farrukhabad railway stations in Uttar Pradesh, police today seized explosives from Shankargarh area of Allahabad.
On a tip-off, cops intercepted Rajesh Patel of Madhya Pradesh at Patiwar crossing. But, he managed to escape.
However, police impounded his vehicle and recovered 50 kg ammonium nitrate and 1,000 metre magnetic fuse wire, according to the DGP office here this evening.
A high intensity hand grenade was recovered from the Farrukhbad railway station, yesterday.
Besides, 10 kg suspected gun powder and 20 litres of ammonium nitrate was recovered from the second class waiting room on platform no 1 of Faizabad railway station on May 23.
