Devraj Urs medical college accorded 'Deemed University' status

New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) The Human Resource Development Ministry has accorded 'Deemed University' status to Devraj Urs Academy of Higher Education Research, Tamaka in Kolar district of Karnataka.

The Central declaration comes on the advice of University Grants Commission under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 and subject to certain conditions. With this, the institution has been disaffilated from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.

The Centre or the UGC will not be providing any plan or non-plan grants to the institution or any of its constitutent institutions, an official communication from the Ministry said.
