Court martial awards death to jawan

Jammu, May 25: Army's summary general court martial has awarded death sentence to a sepoy, who had gunned down his superior while on duty at Rehmbal, about 10 kms short of the Northern command headquarters, Udhampur, last year, a Defence Ministry spokesman today said.

Jammu-based Defence spokeman Lt Col S D Goswami told sources that sepoy Satyam Kumar of Northren command's signal regiment had shot dead Havildar Padam Rajan of the same unit on October 28, 2006.
