CM grants Rs 50,000 for poor farmer's treatment in AIIMS
Patna, May 25 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given Rs 50,000 from his Relief Fund for the treatment of the ailing son of a poor farmer in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
The chief minister, who lost his wife about ten days ago, granted the amount to one Kishori Ram, a farmer from the Maoist-dominated Jehanabad district, yesterday to enable him to take his son, suffering from a rare lung disease, for treatment at the AIIMS.
The farmer, after failing to pool the amount on his own, had approached Mr Kumar by appearing before him during his weekly Janta Durbar a few days ago.
