Centre plans to link Agartala with Chittagong
Agartala, May 25 (UNI) The Centre has decided to set up a railway link between Agartala and Chittagong in Bangladesh.
North East Frontier officials here today said the Railway Ministry was considering the proposal for extention of a railway line from Agartala to Sabroom, southern-most point of Tripura, to set up an international transport link covering only 13 km distance.
The India-Bangladesh rail services were suspended since 1965 following Indo-Pak war.
Official sources said the ministry had already decided to start the Kolkata-Dhaka train service, the sixth railway link between India and Bangladesh in August this year.
