Boys score over girls in Goa SSCE exams
Panaji, May 25 (UNI) Boys outsmarted girls in the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board from March 30 to April 13 at 23 centres in Goa.
Board Chairman L M T Fernandes, who announced the results here today said out of 15,986 candidates who had appeared for the examinations, 11,771 had passed, recording a pass percentage of 73.63.
In all 8,185 girls appeared of whom 5,899 passed, giving a pass percentage of 72.07, while 7,704 boys had appeared for the examinations and 5,830 of them had passed, giving a pass percentage of 75.78.
He said the pass percentage this year is 4.12 per cent higher than that of the last year which was 69.51 per cent.
In the exempted category, 2,288 students had appeared and only 829 passed giving a pass percentage of 36.23.
