ATSUM blocks national highways over reservation issue

Imphal, May 25 (UNI) Demanding reservation for Manipuris in Posts and Services (for SC/ST) Bill 2007, the All Tribal Students Union of Manipur (ATSUM) today again blocked the National Highways number 39 and 53 in Manipur.

ATSUM information secretary Joseph said the talks held last night between Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and members of the ATSUM were not fruitful.

''The government's response was not favourable,'' he said.

The ATSUM also demanded reservation for tribal students in the Manipur University.
