Army officers bodies flown back to their home towns

Jalandhar, May 25 (UNI) The bodies of the two Indian Army officers, who died in the helicopter crash yesterday in Himachal Pradesh, were this afternoon flown back to their home towns from here.

According to Defence spokesman, after conducting post mortem at the Military Hospital here, a wreath laying ceremony was organised by the 11 Corps at the Jalandhar aviation base wherein all the officers paid their last respects.

The body of Lt Col JMP D'Cunha was flown back to his home town Faridabad in Haryana in ALH helicopter, while that of Maj Puneet Karol was flown back to his home town Solan in Himachal Pradesh in Chetak helicopter for the last rites.

Lt Col D'Cunha is survived by his parents, wife and five-year old son, while Maj Karol is survived by his wife and two-year old daughter.
