Area commander of Ranveer Sena arrested

Arwal, May 25 (UNI) Ranveer Sena 'area commander' Butan Sharma, also the main accused in the infamous Miyanpur massacre, was arrested from a hide-out at Kuran village in the district today.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Gopal Singh Bhadoria said acting on a tip off, a team of local police raided Butan's hide-out in the remote village and arrested him. He had been absconding for long.

Apart from the Miyanpur massacre, in which he gunned down 34 people in Aurangabad district seven years ago, Butan was wanted in connection with several other criminal cases, the DSP said.

Butan's close aide Ram Subhag Sharma was also arrested from the same spot.
