Anti-incumbency factor growing in Gujarat: Veghela

Ahmedabad, May 25 (UNI) The Congress today claimed that anti-incumbency factor is growing against the BJP-led Narendra Modi government and the party expects to take over the reins of Gujarat after the Assembly elections.

''The response in the on-going ''Parivartan'' rally was huge and several youths, who had supported BJP in 2002 elections, are now joining Congress in Saurashtra,'' Union Textiles Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela said, while addressing a press conference on the occasion of the completion of three years of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre.

He said people from all walks of life are now against Mr Modi.

''Even BJP leaders are against him,'' he claimed.

The Minister said Congress President Sonia Gandhi will address a rally in the state on May 31 at Mehsana to conclude the rally.

He said Congress has also planned another rally in South Gujarat on June 5 in an effort to bring more people under its fold.
