Another drug peddlar arrested in Maninder drug abuse case
New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Following leads into cricketer Maninder Singh drug abuse case, police have arrested another supplier of the contraband from Jangpura area of South Delhi.
Sunder Murthi, a small time drug peddlar, was arrested yesterday from Jangpura along with 125 grams of 'hashish', said DCP (Narcotics and Crime Prevention Cell) A S Cheema.
''The arrest was made as a consequence to the interrogation of Saim Siddique, the alleged supplier of former test cricketer Maninder Singh.'' Murthi is being produced before a local court here for police remand to interrogate him further on the nexus of drug supply in the Capital, the DCP added.
Maninder Singh was arrested on May 22 morning along with conduit Saim Siddique from Defence Enclave area of Preet Vihar in East Delhi while on his way to the airport to take a Mumbai flight.
Hundred grams of 'charas' and 1.5 grams of cocaine were seized from their possession.
The former test cricketer later said he was taking the banned drug due to family problems.
