5 police personnel injured in road accident

Kohima, May 25: At least five police personnel were injured, two of them seriously, in a road accident at Tizit town under Mon police station in the same district yesterday, police said today.

Official sources said the accident occurred when the vehicle, in which the personnel of Mon police station were travelling, overturned.

The two seriously injured were rushed to Assam Medical College at Dibrugarh, while the others were admitted in the district hospital.

The driver had been arrested for driving in an inebriated state.

The vehicle was reportedly returning to Mon after dropping NSCN(K) Kilonser Kughalu Mulatonu at Zunheboto, who was in Mon to attend the Cease Fire Supervisory Board meeting on Wednesday.
