3 fishermen rescued by Indian Coast Guard
Kochi, May 25 (UNI) Three fishermen were today rescued by the Indian Coast Guard from a sinking fishing vessel off Kollam coast.
According to an offcial release, Indian Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Sub-Centre (MRSC) directed its vessel 'Durgabai Deshmukh' for rescue operation following a message from a container vessel that one fishing vessel with three men onboard was sinking 15 nautical miles off Kollam coast.
All three fishermen - Nasrath, Raju and Suresh - belonging to Kollam were rescued and the ship's staff repaired the trawler's engine, the release said.
The boat was made operational and escorted to the nearest coast, it added.
