Two health employees sent to jail in MSD scam

Patna, May 24 (UNI) Special CBI judge of Patna Radheshyam Prasad today remanded two health department employees in Bihar to judicial custody till June five in a case of Medical Store Depot (MSD) scam.

Earlier, main accused Krishan Kumar, former head clerk of Sadar Hospital, Jehanabad, surrendered before the court, while another accused Manohar Prasad Gupta, also a former clerk of the hospital, was arrested and produced in the court by the CBI.

The designated judge sent both the accused to judicial custody.

The case was related to irregularities under a criminal conspiracy in purchase of medicines of over Rs 7.7 lakh for Jehanabad Sadar Hospital from Medical Store Depot of Mumbai.

The CBI has filed chargsheets in the case against several government officials.
