SP corporator's killing: wife of ex-corporator arrested

Varanasi, May 24 (UNI) The wife of a former municipal corporator was arrested from Khojwan area here today in connection with the May 22 last killing of Samajwadi Party corporator Rakesh Gupta alias Babloo-Lamboo.

Sunita Prajapati, wife of ex-corporator Mangal Prajapati was held under Bhelupur police station area for the murder of her husband's friend and SP corporator Rakesh Gupta, police said.

The policemen are now on the lookout for the two contract killers who were allegedly hired by Sunita and her brother-in-law to kill the SP corporator from Ward No. 25 of Varanasi Nagar Nigam (VNN).

Interestingly, Rakesh Gupta was an accused in the September 2005 killing of Sunita's husband, Mangal Prajapati, a sitting SP corporator from the same Ward No. 25 of VNN.

Rakesh Gupta was shot dead by criminals outside his house in Khojwan area early on May 22.
