Rs 2661 cr disbursed for wheat purchase in Haryana

Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a payment of Rs 2661.35 crore to the farmers of the state so far for the purchase of their 31.31 lakh MTs of wheat during the current rabi season.

Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan today said that HAFED had purchased 12.07 lakh MTs of wheat and had disbursed a sum of Rs 1026.35 crore. Food and Supplies Department had procured 7.57 lakh MTs of wheat and payment of Rs 643.04 crore had been made.

Similarly, Food Corporation of India had procured 3.31 lakh MTs of wheat and disbursed a sum of Rs 281.58 crore to the farmers.

Mr Chander Mohan said that Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 3.10 lakh MTs of wheat and paid a sum of Rs 263.67 crore. Similarly, Haryana Warehousing Corporation had procured 3.10 lakh MTs of wheat and disbursed a sum of Rs 263.67 crore.

He said that Confed had purchased 2.49 lakh MTs and the payment of Rs 212.29 crore was made to the farmers.

Over 34.83 lakh MTs of wheat has arrived in the 360 mandis of the state so far and out of this 31.31 lakh MTs had been purchased by the six government procuring agencies while traders had purchased 3.37 lakh MTs.
