RBI to allow doorstep banking for individual customers

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Following suggestions received from Indian Bank's association (IBA) and some banks, Reserve bank of India today decided to permit banks to impart doorstep banking for individual customers.

Accoding to the RBI directive, the bank's will now deliver cash or draft at the doorstep of individual customers in addition to corporate customers, Government Departments and PSUs.

This can be done either against cheques received at the bank counters or on requests received through secure channels like phone banking and internet banking.
