Rabri Devi alleges groupism in Bihar police hierarchy .

Patna, May 24 (UNI) Alleging largescale groupism in state police hierarchy, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today slammed the Nitish Kumar government for its "failure to check crimes" in the state.

In a statement the Opposition leader in the state assembly pointed out that 'growing factionalism within the police headquarters' was taking its toll as the crime graph was on the rise. As a result the morale of the anti-social elements was an all time high.

She said if this trend was not checked on time, the situation would soon go out of hand causing hindrances in smooth functioning of the police force.

"In over 18 months of rule, the Nitish Kumar government has failed to check crimes despite making promises to turn Bihar a crime-free state within three months of coming to power", Rabri Devi maintained.

Referring to the new police act implemented in Bihar, she said it was against the letter and spirit of the Supreme Court guidelines.
