Political leaders pay floral tributes to Adityanar

Chennai, May 24 (UNI) Leaders of various political parties in Tamil Nadu today paid floral tributes to C P Adityanar, on the occasion of his 26th death anniversary.

Mr Sivanthi Adityan, Chairman of Tamil daily ''Daily Thanthi'' and his son and Managing Director of ''Malai Malar'', Balasubramania Adityan, garlanded the statue of Adityanar at Egmore, followed by a host of politial leaders.

Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister Poongothai, TNCC President M Krishnasamy, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, PMK President G K Mani, DMDK Presidium Chairman Panruti Ramachandran, New Justice Party leader A C Shanmugam and All India Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam leader Sethuraman were among others who paid floral tributes to the late leader.

Hailed as Tamizhar Thanthai (Father of Tamil), Adityanar, who founded ''Daily Thanthi'', had served as Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly and as Minister in the state.
