New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) Minister for civil aviation Praful Patel has asked British investors to participate in a big way in India's development.

Addressing the ''Indian Infrastructure -- way forward'' conference organised by the Indian Business Forum at the London Business School last evening, he said the Indian government is committed to reforms but they have to be inclusive.

India has a great potential and immense growth prospect because of its sheer size and population, said Mr Patel. British investors should avail the opportunity to participate in India's rapid development process, he said.

The Indian government is taking a number of steps to improve the infrastructure of the country, including power, roads, aviation, shipping and transport. It is for the first time in India's history that a committee on infrastructure development headed by prime minister has been formed.

The implementation of projects in seven key infrastructural areas are being monitored by the prime minister's office. According to estimates, India's infrastructure sector alone can absorb more than 150 billion dollars of foreign direct investments (FDIS) over the next five years, said Mr Patel.
