Haryana to provide power to house clusters in hills
Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to provide electricity in 149 'dhanis' (clusters of houses) of Shivalik Hills area during the current financial year at a cost of Rs 1.65 crore.
Stating this, Minister of State for Forests and Tourism Kiran Choudhry said the Hooda government was committed to provide electricity in each and every household of the state.
The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme was being implemented in the state on priority basis which had set an example for the other states, she added.
The Minister said that out of the total cost of Rs 1.65 crore, 86 lakh was being provided by Central government, Rs 41 lakh by the state government and the reamining Rs38 lakh would be borne by the Shivalik Development Board.
