Ferrous metal up on good industrial demand

Mumbai, May 24 (UNI) Ferrous metal rose on good industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils hiked by Rs 300 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively while brass utensils and brass cuttings went up by Rs 100 each per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In the non-ferrous section, remained steady on moderate demand.

Nickel cathode fell by Rs 25 per kg on thin buying support.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,300, Copper utensils - Rs 31,400, Brass utensils - Rs 25,300, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,300 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,500, Lead ingots - Rs 9,700, Tin slab - Rs 720 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,225 (per kg).
