Das Munshi, Bhajan Lal call on Hooda

Chandigarh, May 24 (UNI) Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Das Munshi and former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal today called on Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at his Rohtak residence to express their grief and sorrow on the demise of his brother Joginder Singh Hooda.

Mr Das Munshi said that Joginder Singh Hooda was a champion of the poor and the downtrodden people of the society who was committed for their welfare. He worked throughout his life for their uplift.

Mr Bhajan Lal said that Joginder Hooda was a great social worker and was devoted towards social cause. He said that the void left by him could not be filled in the years to come.

Members of Parliament Sajjan Kumar, Vijender Kumar, Atma Singh Gill, AICC General Secretary V N Swami, father of Captain Abimanyu Mittar Sain, AICC members Sudhir Ranga and P S Lamba and a number of MLAs and various heads of religious organisations also visited Mr Hooda's house to condole his brother's death.

Union External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukarjee has sent his condolence message to the Chief Minister.

Among others who sent their messages were Haryana Minister of State for Tourism and Forests Kiran Choudhry, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Dharambir Singh, former Chief Minister Master Hukam Singh and former Governor Bhanu Partap Singh.
