BJP youth to protest removal of Mangal Pandey's statue

New Delhi, May 24 (UNI) While the country is observing 150th year of freedom struggle, the BJP has found a reason to resurrect the statue of Mangal Pandey, the hero of 1857 struggle, in the Writers Building, the Secretariat of West Bengal Government.

The BJP Yuva Morcha is going to lead an agitation against insult to the hero of freedom struggle by removing his statue from the Writers Building premises on May 28, BJP Yuva Morcha President Amit Thaker told newspersons.

''We will carry the portrait of Mangal Pandey to force the government to reinstall the statue. Youths from several districts of West Bengal would take part actively and highlight the injustice done by the Left parties who had taken pro-imperialist stand during the British regime.'' UNI
