129 college lecturers to be appointed on contract in city

Chandigarh , May 24 (UNI) The Chandigarh Administration will appoint 129 more college cadre lecturers in different colleges of the city shortly.

These lecturers were being appointed to meet the increased requirement of lecturers as many new courses would be started in different colleges from this academic year.

The lecturers would be appointed on contract basis for the academic session 2007-2008.

As many as 16 lecturers will be appointed for Bio technology, 15 for English, 8 each for Environmental Science, Computer Science, 7 for Commerce, 6 for physical education, 5 each for Math, Physics, History, 4 for Chemistry and Zoology, 3 for Economics, Punjabi, 2 for Botany, Home Science, One lecturer each will be appointed for Defence Studies, Geography, Dance, French, Fine Arts, Political Science and Psychology. As many as 21 lecturers would be recruited for BCA/MSc (IT) and 8 lecturers for BBA under self finance scheme.
