10 killed as tractor trolley plunges into a gorge in Mount Abu
Jaipur, May 24 (UNI) Ten people were killed and over 35 injured when a tractor trolley lost control and plunged into a 200-feet gorge between Abu Road and Mt Abu last night.
According to police sources, the accident took place at Chipaveri, about 15 km from Mount Abu. Police said Bhera Garasia, a resident of Swaroopgang, was returning last night with his family and relatives in the tractor-trolley after attending a religious function at the Veer Bapji temple. The trolley lost control and plunged into a gorge around 2200 hrs.
The police and the cadets of the Vivekananda Mountaineering Institute in a joint rescue operation recovered eight bodies and rescued 35 injured with the help of a crane. Two people later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. The condition of some of the injured was stated to be serious.
