Shetkari Sahakari Sangh employees call off 34-day strike
Kolhapur, May 23 (UNI) Employees of leading co-operative unit 'Shetakari Sahakari Sangh' (SSS) today called off their 34-day strike after district collector Pravin Darade held discussions with them.
Mr Darade called a joint meeting between representatives of the management and employees during which curtailment of 10 per cent wages was stayed.
The strike was called by Kolhapur Zilla Sahakari Employees Union affialated to the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) in protest against Sangh management's decision to curtail employees wages, deny them annual increment, freezing of dearness allowance among others, the release said.
Regarding other demands the union will challenge the management's decision in the court, the released added.
