Punjab govt to set up hydel project in Uttarakhand
Chandigarh, May 23 (UNI) The Punjab Government may set up a 400 MWs Hydel Project in Uttarakhand, the modalities for which are being worked out.
This was disclosed here today by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal after chairing a meeting of senior official to take stock of the power scenario in the state.
Evincing interest in setting up of the hydro project, Mr Badal had a telephonic talk with Uttranchal Chief Minister Maj Gen (retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri for the allotment of a suitable site. The CM is likely to take up this issue with Mr Khanduri during the meeting of the Prime Minister with Chief Ministers and Power Ministers to be held at Delhi on May 28.
Others present in the meeting included Chief Secretary R I Singh, Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) Chairman Y S Ratra, Power Secretary Suresh Kumar and other senior officials.
