NFR ready with 'plan' to face 100-hour blockade
Guwahati, May 23 (UNI) The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is ready with an 'emergency plan' to cope up with the situation that may arise out of the 100 hour road-cum-rail blockade announced by Ex-BLT Welfare Society from tomorrow.
A NFR source informed that the Railway had a plan ready and would act on the basis of the impact of the blockade call in the first few hours. Meanwhile, security in Bodo-dominated Western and Northern Asom has been beefed up in view of the agitation programme announced by former members of the disbanded Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT).
The former BLT men have given the call for blockade to protest against the series of killings of former BLT members by the rival National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) which is now in truce with the Union government.
The blockade is expected to have total impact in western Asom district under Bodoland Territorial Autonomous District Council (BTADC) which is now ruled by former BLT leaders in the capacity of elected members of the Council.
